Video: Anacapri in the Morning

If there’s one thing I love while traveling, it’s a balcony with a view. While that does sound somewhat picky and high-maintenance, I’m certainly not a snob when it comes to what the view needs to be. Sometimes it’s a wide-spanning view of Lake Como and other times it’s a frost-covered lawn in Tennessee. Last week, however, I had one of my favorites: overlooking Anacapri as people began their mornings.

Long ago on The Sunday Scaries Podcast, I did a segment on Norwegian Slow TV. Normally these videos are long, unedited, and somewhat mundane. But while sitting at home for long periods of time, it felt very relaxing for me to have it on in the background while I worked, cooked, or simply scrolled my phone. Ever since, I’ve tried to build my own library of videos from view I’ve fallen in love with while traveling.

Perhaps a little self-serving, but that’s okay.

While staying at Jumeirah Capri Palace for the latter part of last week, it was very evident that I couldn’t waste the view I woke up to every morning. The Vespas driving by, the taxis picking up people for their boat days, and the birds chirping above our room. I even began taking to the tour groups that you’ll hear walking by beneath us.

Pour some coffee (or an espresso). I hope you enjoy this in the background as much as I enjoyed watching it in the moment. Or, at least almost as much as I enjoyed it in the moment.
