Jumeirah Mallorca

As our plane descended, I wasn’t totally sure what to expect. I hadn’t been in Spain since high school nor had I done much research on anything but the hotel that was hosting us, Jumeirah Mallorca. What I found was a place I’ll surely return to given another opportunity or open schedule.

While we drove from the airport to the property, I posted an Instagram story as we entered Sóller. Many of the responses I got were, “You have to eat here” or, “You have to go to Port de Sóller.” Luckily for us, we were staying right above it.

As we entered our room, I knew I was in for three days of balcony-sitting — my favorite activity on any trip. As you’ll see below, our view gave us a clear look at everything entering and leaving the port. Despite visibility being low on our first couple days due to some unseasonable rain, I still spent more time on that balcony than most. I also supplemented the lazy first couple days with Jumeirah’s patio sushi restaurant and multiple pastas featuring seafood for lunch, so no complaints here.

While there, we did what you’re supposed to do in Mallorca: we ate fresh locally-caught seafood, made some time to get on the water, tasted wines with some new friends, and said a lot of, “Wow, this is so beautiful.”

And I can’t wait to return.

Editor’s Note: I did end up losing an entire roll of film from our rainiest day Mallorca due to overexposure. Luckily, if I could’ve lost one roll of film from our trip, it was that one. Everything else turned out better than expected.
